Most bank transfers are completed instantly. A transfer method such as ATM/Card transactions, internet transactions, Peer to peer app transactions and so on happens instantaneously, especially if the transfer is between accounts in the same financial institution. Some may be delayed for about 1 or 2 hours sometimes though.

Wire transfers can also happen within minutes, especially if the transaction is through a non-bank money transfer service. Unless there is a glitch, wire transfers happen within a maximum of 24 hours. However, if it’s an international transaction whereby it involves sending money to another country, the transfer may take up to five days before it is completed.

For ACH transactions, it may take 3 to 4 business days for the transactions to be completed.

As for cash based money transfer systems the time frame for their completion may not really be predictable, as it depends on a lot of factors, the chief of them being the decisions of the parties handling each stage of the transaction at every point in time.
